Introducing Barometric Pressures -- our new Author Series of echapbooks

Barometric Pressures is Kind of a Hurricane Press's series of echapbooks.  For this series we are looking for artists with a strong voice and focus in either poetry, flash fiction, or fiction.  We are looking for artists who can make something happen in 10 to 30 pages of poetry or prose.  We are looking for interesting, progressive, unique work and ideas.  If you think you have something that fits those qualifications, be sure to check out our submissions guidelines (link to the new web page under Our Journals sidebar), then send your work our way.

The collections accepted for Barometric Pressures will be downloadable echapbooks, free to any and all who wish to read them.  Please note these will not be print editions.  We have hopes of doing full-length ebooks and print editions in the future, but we are not there yet.

Anthology Update

Submissions for this years anthologies are now closed.  We had an amazing turn out for our first year.  Backlit Barbell is about to go to press, Barbie in a Blender is mid-production, and Mistletoe Madness has just entered its selection phase.  We wanted to take a moment and thank everyone who contributed.  And for those of you who did not find a topic you could relate to this year, we wanted to let you know that next year we have SIX very diverse anthologies planned.  We will be announcing those topics in December.  So stay tuned for that information.  Meanwhile, our journals are always on the lookout for amazing poetry, so stop by our sites and check them out!

Anthology Status Update

Submissions are now closed for Barbie in a Blender Anthology. However, there are still a few more days to submit for our Mistletoe Madness Anthology! Deadline: November 15th.

As for our first anthology, Backlit Barbell. Selections have been made and we are in mid-production of the book. Check back soon for more details on its release date!!!!

Two New Anthologies!

Barbie In A Blender, is a multi-author anthology now open for submissions of poetry about or relating to Barbie.  America’s favorite doll has always been a source of inspiration for children, now she’s an inspiration for us.  Send us your humor, your sentimentality, your irony, your anger, whatever you feel about Barbie.  Anything goes!  Deadline:  October 31^st!

Mistletoe Madness, is a mutli-author anthology now open for submissions of poetry with the theme of Christmas.  Yes, boys and girls, it’s that time again!  Deadline:  November 15^th!

Backlit Barbell, our first multi-author anthology is also still open for submissions of poetry with the theme of health/fitness/exercise.  Deadline:  September 30^th!
